ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER (APM)


Building Envelope / Façade Projects

Location: Elkhorn, WI (Office-Based)

Project Focus: Midwest-Based | Select National Work with Repeat Clients

Base Salary: $70,000–$95,000 annually, depending on experience

Commissions: Additional earnings tied to project success

Status: Evergreen — opens as work demands it


THE ROLE

Assistant Project Managers support the execution of commercial building envelope and façade installations from award through closeout, under the direction of a Project Manager.

This role is for people who want to understand how projects actually run — not just manage tasks. You’ll work inside a structured system, support field execution, and build the habits required to take on full project responsibility over time.


WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Supporting project setup, submittals, and procurement for façade systems

  • Keeping project records, schedules, and documentation clean, accurate, and up to date as projects move through production

  • Assisting with coordination between in-house field crews, vendors, and project leadership

  • Tracking labor hours, material usage, and installation progress

  • Supporting closeout documentation and billing activities

  • Helping maintain clear visibility into project status as work progresses


HOW PROJECT MANAGEMENT WORKS HERE

This role operates inside a defined project management structure.

Systems, documentation, and follow-through matter.

You’ll be expected to:

  • Keep assigned systems current and organized

  • Communicate clearly and early when issues arise

  • Support predictable execution rather than reacting to urgency

Training, responsibility, and scope increase as consistency and reliability are demonstrated.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 1–4 years experience in construction coordination, PM support, or field leadership

  • Exposure to building envelope or exterior scopes preferred

  • Strong organizational habits and attention to detail

  • Comfortable working inside established systems

  • Steady under pressure and receptive to feedback


WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

  • Not a client-facing decision-making role

  • Not a position with pricing or contract authority

  • Not a remote or hybrid role

  • Not an unstructured or ad-hoc environment
