ESTIMATOR (1–2)
Building Envelope / Façade Systems
Location: Elkhorn, WI (Office-Based)
Base Salary: $75,000–$95,000 annually, depending on experience
Status: Evergreen — opens as work demands it
THE ROLE
Estimators at Construction Ahead USA are responsible for pricing commercial building envelope and façade work that must be installed clean in the field.
This is not conceptual estimating and not sales theater.
If you price it, it needs to be executable, defensible, and aligned with how the work is actually built.
This evergreen posting is intended for Estimator 1 and Estimator 2 candidates who want to grow inside a disciplined, execution-focused estimating environment.
Create takeoffs and estimates using Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, and other digital tools.
Identify risks, value engineering options, and bid strategies.
Support the handoff process to Project Coordination and Field Operations.
3+ years of estimating experience in cladding, exterior envelope, or similar scopes.
WHERE THIS ROLE FITS GEOGRAPHICALLY
Construction Ahead USA is Midwest-based, and this position is office-based in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
Our estimating team supports:
A growing Midwest project base, and
Select national projects tied to repeat, qualified general contractors
We do not chase bids across the country.
Estimators support national work only when it aligns with long-term relationships, defined scopes, and execution standards.
This structure provides:
Day-to-day stability in the office
Exposure to high-quality national projects
Clear boundaries around what work we pursue
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings for building envelope and façade scopes
Performing accurate quantity takeoffs from elevations, wall sections, and details
Developing complete labor, material, equipment, access, and logistics pricing
Pricing façade systems, including fiber cement, metal panels, rainscreens, insulation, furring, and attachment systems
Identifying scope gaps, constructability risks, alternates, and value-engineering options
Coordinating and leveling pricing with material suppliers and trade partners
Preparing clear, well-documented proposals with defined assumptions and exclusions
Supporting a clean, organized handoff to Project Management after the award
HOW ESTIMATING WORKS HERE
Estimating operates inside a defined lane.
Accuracy, documentation, and follow-through matter.
Estimates are expected to reflect the real scope, sequencing, and field conditions.
You’ll be expected to:
Price work the way it will actually be built
Keep estimates organized, traceable, and complete
Surface risk early rather than bury it
Support predictable execution after the award
Responsibility and scope increase as consistency and judgment are demonstrated.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Estimator 1: Entry-level to early experience with drawings, takeoffs, or field exposure
Estimator 2: Proven estimating experience with exterior, façade, or envelope scopes
Ability to read drawings without guessing
Strong organizational habits and attention to detail
Comfortable being accountable for your numbers

Not a guess-and-pad estimating environment
Not disconnected from field execution
Not remote or hybrid
