Chapter Mifflin Student Housing Development
in-progress PROJECTS
A six-story student housing development rising in one of Madison’s most visible university-adjacent districts.
status: IN-PROGRESS
Some projects immediately stand out as important additions to a city.
Chapter Mifflin is one of them.
Rising in Madison’s historic Mifflin District just blocks from the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus, the six-story development will introduce 516 beds of purpose-built student housing within one of the most active and walkable areas near campus.
Located between West Washington Avenue and West Mifflin Street, the project sits within easy reach of the university, the State Street corridor, and the Wisconsin State Capitol district. Developments like this support Madison’s continued growth as one of the Midwest’s most dynamic university cities.
The project is being developed by CRG, designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative, and constructed by Wisconsin-based CG Schmidt.
Construction Ahead USA is proud to be part of the project team delivering the turnkey exterior cladding systems for the development.
Projects of this scale demand strong coordination between the design team, builder, specialty trades, and manufacturers long before installation begins.
Preconstruction Coordination
Work on projects like this begins long before installation starts in the field.
Our team has been involved through estimating, façade system coordination, supplier collaboration, and constructability alignment as the project progressed through preconstruction.
Urban university developments bring unique challenges. Dense sites, multiple exterior systems, and demanding construction schedules require strong alignment between builders, specialty trades, and manufacturers well before the first panels are installed.
That early coordination helps ensure the exterior envelope performs as intended while allowing the construction schedule to move forward with confidence once installation begins.
Exterior Envelope Systems
Construction Ahead USA will deliver the integrated exterior cladding systems for the project, combining several complementary systems across the building façade.
Exterior Envelope Scope
Together these systems create a durable exterior envelope designed for long-term performance while supporting the architectural character of the building.
Building in University Markets
Student housing developments near major universities must balance architectural quality, long-term durability, and efficient construction.
Projects like Chapter Mifflin bring together developers, architects, general contractors, specialty trades, and manufacturers to deliver buildings that support growing student populations while strengthening the surrounding neighborhoods.
Construction Ahead USA works alongside builders across university markets throughout the country, helping teams align complex exterior envelope systems from preconstruction through installation in the field.
Over time, that consistency has allowed many builders to rely on Construction Ahead USA as a preferred façade partner when coordination and execution matter most.
Projects like this are exactly the kind of work our team takes pride in delivering.
