Strong projects become long-term partnerships when the experience is as solid as the finished building.

Construction Ahead USA has been awarded the exterior cladding scope for KinderCare’s new ground-up facility in Fredericksburg, delivered in partnership with Fortunato Construction Group, a builder that understands success is not measured only at turnover, but across the entire process.
From the owner’s seat, this building represents growth in a market that continues to attract families, employers, and long-term investment. From the GC’s seat, it represents the need for disciplined coordination, clear scopes, and partners who reduce friction instead of creating it. And from the end user’s seat, it all starts at the front door.
The entrance was designed and executed to perform on all three fronts.
The primary elevation is anchored by Nichiha Sandstone 2 in Gentle Gray, selected for durability, consistency, and repeatable detailing across a national portfolio. Early alignment with Jared Turner at Nichiha ensured detailing, sequencing, and material logistics were resolved before they could become field issues.
At the soffit and canopy transitions, a 6" Table Walnut extruded aluminum tongue-and-groove system by Longboard delivers warmth without introducing future maintenance exposure. Guided by Adam Cossick, the VE process balanced first cost, constructability, and long-term performance without diluting design intent.
