Winston-Salem “Twin City”, NC – target
Retail construction in Winston-Salem, NC for Target, with exterior envelope installation by Construction Ahead USA built for performance, durability, and long-term tenant use.
This storefront runs on the same idea. Two manufacturers share one wall: Longboard plank across the upper face, Nichiha USA panel below it. Two systems, two sets of details, two install manuals. One crew hung both.
Winston and Salem grew up side by side as two separate towns. They tried to merge once in 1879, and it fell apart. In 1913, the vote finally carried, and the two became one city with a hyphen holding both names together. They still call it the Twin City.
A crew with that kind of range is why retail rollout programs land with us. A GC does not want two subs splitting one elevation, two contracts, two schedules, and a seam in the middle that nobody owns. One sub who runs both systems to standard means one call, one crew, and one clean handoff at the end.
Seventy-five sign anchors penetrate this facade. Every one laid out, cut precisely, and sealed, because the sign hangs on our work and the independent third-party inspection reads every detail. This one came back clean.
It took Winston and Salem two tries and thirty-four years to come together.
The two systems on this wall fit together the first time.
Our discipline travels with our GCs. This one was North Carolina.
G & F Group put both systems in one subcontract.
