Before the Target Bullseye Goes On
Somersworth, New Hampshire
Plans do not talk. So Target hires a layer whose only job is to make sure the standard ends up on the building anyway. That layer is Encompass. A third party check, belt and suspenders. Most subs see that check as a threat. We do not, because we build to the same drawings it holds everyone to.
Here is how we run it. Preconstruction is not just a meeting we sit through. It is where we lock the plan. Short schedule, so we show up with our ducks in a row or we do not show up. Our crews set the VaproShield weather barrier, then the flashings and sealants, then the Longboard. V-Groove aluminum in Table Walnut, stacked bond to U-Reveal trim, every plank landing at the trim line. One face, not a collection of parts.
The store never closed, so the work ran at night. On a night build, we only see what we light. A bad course hides in a shadow until the sun comes up, and the sun comes up with the inspector under it. So we light the wall like the walk is happening right then. Most trades drag through a night shift. Our crew is dialed in and moving.

When the inspector reached our scope, the standard was already on the wall, checked, and confirmed. That is the validation that matters. Not a review, not a thank you. The work held up to the people paid to doubt it.
Before the bullseye goes on, we are already gone.
